This CD was to include all A and B sides of her first seven Fame 45's, then some more A sides and some album tracks off her first three LP's.

When Candi Staton started out her recorded career, she was married to Clarence Carter, who wrote and produced some of her earlier material. Her first 45 was a top 10 R&B hit and following it she had an amazing run of R&B chart hits with no misses, until 1979, and continued to have hits into the 80's. Although her biggest success was undoubtedly Young Hearts Run Free, a 1976 R&B #1, fine as this recording was, for the Soul of the Net it's her earlier Fame recordings that send the shivers up and down the site's virtual spine... here are some of them.
