A friend of mine from the UK has been in touch with Emanuel Laskey and he is willing to perform again, but so far no one has expressed interest in hiring him!

Emanuel Laskey never entered the Billboard R&B/Soul charts, HOWEVER, a regional chart by radio station KYOK of Houston Texas (reprinted in Soul Survivor Number 9) shows "I'm a peace loving man" at position 36! The chart is from around April/May 1966.

When I first put this page on my site (Emanuel Laskey was one of the first five artists to be represented on these pages) I asked this question:

First of all we'd like to thank you for the wonderful, shivers-down-the-spine records, and to let you know that so many peolpe have danced to them and loved them over the past thirty years all over the world, secondly we'll try to get an interview with you here, and thirdly, we will try to get you back to the recording studio! (a soul fantasy).

Well, thanks to the wonders of the Internet, Mr. Laskey DID indeed get in touch! And somewhat surprised he was too to find out that his records have made such lasting waves that won't quit even through the third millenium. I was truly overjoyed to be able to chat on the phone with Mr. Laskey, who no longer sings but has plans for getting back into music on the production side.

I do hope we get some more music from Emanuel Laskey, and am currently trying to make the link between him and a UK promoter who will be able to arrange for a UK / European visit.
